Frequently Asked Questions

Does each center have their own proposals and registration forms? No, the forms have been streamlined and now there is only one proposal form and one registration form with all of the centers listed on it.  You can find the new registration form at https://www.ashland.edu/founders/professional-development-services.

Also, our Adjunct section of the web site will always have the most current proposal form (again only one universal form) as well as our adjunct manual which will provide many answer to your questions.  Be sure to check it out at https://www.ashland.edu/founders/professional-development-services/adjunct-information.

Did you know that you can find the answer to many of your questions in the FAQS section of the PDS Main web page?  Just go to https://www.ashland.edu/founders/professional-development-services and click on the FAQS tab in the bar under the banner.

Tuition Remains the Same Again for Next Year!

Ashland University’s Professional Development tuition will not increase once again for another school year.  Tuition will remain the same for the 2016-17 school year at $175.00 per semester hour.  This is a bargain price for graduate credit, and we are very pleased to be able to offer this to your teachers.  This makes the sixth straight year that there has been no increase - wow!!!
Dr. Eun-Woo Chang
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Eun-Woo Chang as the new Provost at Ashland University.  Dr. Chang will assume his duties on April 1, 2016.  Dr. Chang has served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at Mercer County Community College in New Jersey since 2014 and prior to that was the Dean of Science for Engineering and Mathematics at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland.  We are excited about the rich experience he brings to Ashland University and look forward to his leadership.  Welcome, Dr. Chang!

License Renewal

If any of your staff is in need of additional graduate credit to renew their expiring license, there is still plenty of time to complete PD requirements before the deadline.  We offer many PDS classes on current topics in education throughout the summer.  Go to our web page to find our course listings: https://www.ashland.edu/founders/professional-development-services. Scroll to the bottom of the page to search for both face-to-face and online classes.

Cohort Opportunities

Learning Cohorts have been utilized by educators for a number of years.  Ashland University believes that these formats are still a very valuable format for learning.  Our cohorts are designed to use the best blend of online and face to face classes to provide training for those interested in administration licenses, gifted endorsements, reading endorsements, or training working with non-english speaking students.  Contact your local director for information on how your district can host a cohort and take advantage of potential  savings on tuition cost.
